The staff provided a warm welcome and seamlessly arranged special preferences prior to arrival. The lounge area was cozy and perfect for a festive gathering, and the restaurant offered really good food prepared from local ingredients. Access to scenic walking trails was just steps away.

This place suits me perfectly. It offers free wi-fi, a cozy bar/lounge, and 24-hour security. The staff are helpful. They once assisted me with a local food delivery. Can't wait to return for the new year!

Me and my partner spent a night at Balmoral Arms recently after visiting Balmoral Castle. The location couldn't be better. Just a quick drive from the castle and right in the heart of Ballater. The staff were so warm and cute. We received a free upgrade to the Balmoral suite, and I was impressed by how clean and spacious the room was. The views from our window, especially with the Christmas lights, added a lovely touch. Breakfast included in our stay was delicious and very filling. Only downside? The hot water took a bit to come through when we were showering. I can't fault this hotel and can't recommend it enough if you're considering a stay in this area.

Couple seeking charm and coziness
The breakfast was nice, good quantity quality and options it made us feel at ease starting the day right and the room had this fine view of the Christmas lights outside that really set the mood for a cozy night in
It wasn't exactly cheap but for the experience we had it was still acceptable

Terrific old-fashioned hotel, nice views of the mountains. Lots of food for the continental breakfast. Exceptional staff team with excellent service. Very central location adjacent to Ballater, restaurant and the centre, freshly decorated and exceptional rooms. Nearby Glenaden Property - great place to chill out.

Bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean but despite being described as "refurbished" the room still had a very tired feel about it and the bathroom fittings were desperately in need of replacement. Breakfast quality, choice and staff are simply outstanding - probably one of the best breakfast offerings I have had in over 30 years of extensive travel (small personal note - chives on every kind of egg is not to my taste!). The table d'hote menu was also very, very good and the quality of ingredients, cooking and presentation was first class. The hotel's location is a major draw being in the centre of a very pretty little town and gives you easy access to all of Royal Deeside's stunning scenery and attractions.
Hmmm... not sure where to start without seeming over critical. The hotel is probably best described as a bit of a "curate's egg". In parts (as described above) it really is rather good but lets itself down in too many little areas to be a really special place. During my stay, I received immediate, positive action to a problem on the afternoon I arrived - well done to the Manager but then all of that hard work was undone by a very noisy kitchen fan that was on from 7am - 10pm it seemed. Worse than that, on my second and final morning, there was no hot water and I had to have a less than comfortable cold water shave and no shower. These things happen but it's how staff respond and in this case I was told, "thank you for letting us know". Sorry Deeside Inn - must try harder.
